Factory Supervisor

 Job Title: Factory Supervisor (Mechanical Engineering)Job SummaryWe are seeking a proactive and technically skilled Factory Supervisor with a Mechanical Engineering background to oversee day-to-day manufacturing operations. The ideal candidate will ensure production targets are achieved while maintaining high standards of quality, safety, and efficiency. The role requires strong leadership skills, practical engineering knowledge, and the ability to solve production-related problems.

• Key ResponsibilitiesSupervise daily production activities and ensure production schedules are met.
• Lead and coordinate factory technicians, operators, and assembly workers.
• Monitor product quality and ensure compliance with company standards.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings, assembly drawings, and technical documentation.
• Plan and organize manpower, tools, and materials for smooth production.
• Identify production bottlenecks and implement process improvements to increase efficiency.
• Coordinate with the design, procurement, stores, and quality teams.
• Ensure proper maintenance and calibration of production equipment and tools.
• Maintain production records, work orders, and inventory consumption reports.
• Monitor production costs and minimize material wastage.
• Ensure compliance with workplace safety regulations and maintain a clean production environment.
• Train and mentor production staff on assembly procedures and quality standards.
• Participate in prototype builds and support new product introduction into manufacturing.
• Troubleshoot mechanical and assembly issues on the production floor.
• Coordinate with suppliers and vendors when required for manufacturing-related activities.
• Required QualificationsDiploma or Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Production Engineering.
• 1–8 years of experience in a manufacturing or production environment.
• Experience supervising factory personnel and shop-floor operations.
• Good understanding of manufacturing processes, mechanical assembly, and fabrication.
• Ability to read engineering drawings and mechanical CAD drawings.
• Knowledge of production planning and inventory control.
• Familiarity with quality control procedures and inspection methods.
• Basic computer skills including Microsoft Excel, Word, and email.
• Preferred SkillsExperience with sheet metal fabrication and machining processes.
• Knowledge of welding, CNC machining, laser cutting, bending, or powder coating.
• Experience in electrical or electronics product assembly is an advantage.
• Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing, 5S, Kaizen, or continuous improvement practices.
• Understanding of ISO 9001 quality management systems.
• Knowledge of ERP or production management software.
• Ability to prepare production reports and analyze manufacturing performance.
