Purpose of the RoleThe English Teacher & Academic Coordinator is responsible for delivering high-quality English instruction while ensuring effective academic planning, curriculum implementation, teacher support, student progress monitoring, and coordination of academic activities within the assigned grades.
A. ENGLISH TEACHER RESPONSIBILITIESCurriculum DeliveryPlan and deliver engaging English lessons aligned with the school's curriculum and learning objectives.
- Develop students' reading, writing, listening, speaking, grammar, and comprehension skills.
- Differentiate instruction to meet diverse learning needs.
- Integrate technology and innovative teaching methodologies into classroom instruction.
- Student Learning & AssessmentConduct formative and summative assessments.
- Maintain accurate records of student performance.
- Provide constructive feedback to students and parents.
- Develop and implement intervention plans for students requiring additional support.
- Classroom ManagementCreate a safe, positive, and inclusive learning environment.
- Maintain discipline in accordance with school policies.
- Foster student participation, creativity, and critical thinking.
- Parent CommunicationConduct Parent-Teacher Meetings (PTMs).
- Communicate student progress and concerns effectively.
- Respond promptly to parent queries and concerns.
- DocumentationPrepare annual plans, lesson plans, worksheets, question papers, and assessment records.
- Maintain student portfolios and academic records as required.
B. ACADEMIC COORDINATOR RESPONSIBILITIESAcademic Planning & Curriculum ManagementEnsure effective implementation of the school's curriculum.
- Monitor syllabus completion across assigned grades.
- Review lesson plans and teaching strategies.
- Support curriculum enrichment and academic innovation.
- Teacher Support & DevelopmentMentor and guide teachers in instructional best practices.
- Conduct classroom observations and provide feedback.
- Identify training needs and support professional development initiatives.
- Facilitate sharing of best practices among teachers.
- Student Performance MonitoringAnalyze assessment data and academic outcomes.
- Identify students requiring academic intervention.
- Coordinate remedial and enrichment programs.
- Track academic progress against established goals.
- Academic Quality AssuranceEnsure consistency in teaching standards and assessment practices.
- Review question papers, worksheets, projects, and report cards.
- Monitor compliance with academic policies and procedures.
- Parent EngagementSupport teachers in handling academic concerns raised by parents.
- Participate in PTMs and parent orientation programs.
- Build strong school-parent partnerships.
- Coordination of School ProgramsCoordinate literary events, competitions, assemblies, exhibitions, and special programs.
- Lead English-related clubs, reading initiatives, and language enrichment activities.
- Support school events and academic celebrations.
- Administrative ResponsibilitiesPrepare academic reports and presentations.
- Participate in management and academic review meetings.
- Maintain academic documentation and records.
- Support accreditation, inspections, and audits as required.

QUALIFICATIONS: Essential: Bachelor's Degree in English or relevant discipline.
- B.Ed. qualification.
- Minimum 3–5 years of teaching experience.
- PreferredPrior experience as Academic Coordinator, Subject Head, or Grade Coordinator.
- Experience in CBSE/ICSE/State Board curriculum.
