Job Description – Design / Pre-Sales Engineer

Job Summary

The Design / Pre-Sales Engineer is responsible for preparing technical proposals, BOQs, system designs, and execution-ready drawings for automation, lighting, AV, and control system projects. The role works closely with the Sales and Project teams to ensure accurate designs, timely proposal submissions, and seamless project execution.

Proposal Preparation·      Prepare technical proposals based on customer requirements and sales inputs.

·      Develop clear system descriptions, scope of work, and technical specifications.

·      Ensure proposals comply with company standards and timelines.

BOQ Preparation·      Prepare accurate BOQs.

·      Select appropriate products and verify compatibility.

·      Ensure BOQ matches proposal and scope.

System Design·      Design automation, lighting, AV, control and network systems.

·      Develop scalable integrated solutions.

Technical Drawings·      Prepare wiring, layout, rack and network drawings.

·      Ensure drawings are execution-ready.

Design Coordination·      Coordinate with Sales, Project Managers, Programmers and Installation teams.

·      Provide technical clarifications.

Design Revisions & Documentation·      Update designs for project changes.

·      Maintain revision history and archive documents.

Product Knowledge·      Stay updated with new technologies and products.

·      Participate in technical training.

Desired Skills·      Knowledge of Home Automation, AV, ELV or Building Automation.

·      AutoCAD and Microsoft Office proficiency.

·      Good analytical, communication and coordination skills.

Qualifications·      Diploma/B.E./B.Tech in Electrical, Electronics, Instrumentation, or related engineering discipline.

·      Freshers with a strong interest in Home Automation, AV, ELV, or Building Automation are encouraged to apply.

·      0–5 years of experience in Design, Pre-Sales, Automation, AV, ELV, or related systems is an added advantage.

·      Basic knowledge of AutoCAD, Microsoft Office, and technical drawings is preferred.

·      Good analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.

·      Willingness to learn new technologies and work in a collaborative team environment.
