Job Description – CCTV Technician (Technical Services & Installations with Fire Alarm Systems)

Reports To: Technical Supervisor / Service Manager

Job Summary

The CCTV Technician is responsible for the installation, configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of CCTV surveillance systems, Fire Alarm Systems, Access Control Systems, and related security equipment. The role requires field work, technical expertise, and coordination with clients to ensure smooth project execution and service support.

Key Responsibilities

CCTV Installation & Maintenance

Install and configure CCTV Cameras (Analog & IP).

Install and configure DVR, NVR, and video management systems.

Perform cable laying, termination, and testing.

Troubleshoot and resolve CCTV system issues.

Conduct preventive and corrective maintenance.

Fire Alarm System Installation & Maintenance

Install and commission Fire Alarm Control Panels (FACP).

Install smoke detectors, heat detectors, hooters, MCPs, and other fire safety devices.

Test and troubleshoot fire alarm systems.

Ensure compliance with fire safety standards and client requirements.

Conduct routine inspections and maintenance of fire alarm systems.

Technical Support

Attend service calls and customer complaints.

Diagnose faults and provide timely resolutions.

Coordinate with clients during installations and maintenance visits.

Provide technical guidance and user training to customers.

Documentation

Maintain service reports and installation reports.

Update project completion records.

Report technical issues and escalation requirements to supervisors.

Required Skills

Knowledge of CCTV Cameras, DVR, NVR, and IP Surveillance Systems.

Knowledge of Fire Alarm Systems and Fire Safety Equipment.

Basic Networking (LAN, WAN, TCP/IP).

Cable laying, crimping, and termination.

Troubleshooting and fault-finding skills.

Good communication and customer-handling abilities.

Qualification

ITI / Diploma in Electrical, Electronics, Telecommunications, or related field.

Certification in CCTV, Fire Alarm, or Security Systems preferred.

Experience

1–5 years of experience in CCTV and Fire Alarm installation and maintenance.

Freshers with relevant technical training may also apply.
