BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT MANAGER - ROLE SUMMARY


Our Business Development team is responsible for purchasing properties available for sale in our target markets. As a Business Development Manager, you will primarily be responsible for driving individual developed conversations with home sellers to purchase apartments, resulting in closure of the buy transaction with Ivy Homes. You will routinely deal with complexity. You’ll build mastery over our business model and processes, and be responsible for handholding sellers through details of what they should expect in the sale of the home. You’ll live and communicate our principles of trust, transparency and customer empathy. You’ll work through our unit economics and tailor-make custom solutions to suit the requirements of sellers profitably. You’ll own a significant chunk of P&L, and will be responsible for working with the team to drive higher acquisitions each month. In your heart, you are a true salesperson. Navigating purchase pipelines, perfection in planning and forecasting, and additionally working with sellers on timelines must come naturally to you. You’re a born communicator, and you will manage stakeholders across the spectrum beautifully. You will have to be comfortable with targets, and hungry for business.


WHAT WILL YOU DO?


● You will receive qualified leads from the team, where primary offers to sellers are to be made ● Our associates will drive the first conversation with potential sellers ● You’ll coordinate internally with the Pricing team to derive final price offers for the homes ● You’ll assume the front-ending responsibility, effectively communicating the offer and assessing the status of the lead ● You’ll handhold through to the final sign-off on the numbers with the seller, and close things out by signing a Letter of Intent ● You’re responsible for a smooth handover to our Customer Relationship Management (CRM) team to drive things from there on ● Project Management, Mathematical Ability, Business Acumen, Negotiation Ability, and Conversation skills are the key pillars of the Business Development Manager role ● You are the face and voice of the brand, and you must live our values (Get Things Done; Be a Good Person!) in everything you say and do ● You’ve got to be comfortable working with targets and consistently hitting or delivering beyond that - things will grow at a breakneck pace because we’re a very young startup! ● Thinking process, working with systems, communicating clearly, and setting expectations with stakeholders need to be second nature to you


WHAT YOU SHOULD BRING TO THE TABLE


● 2-6 years of experience, ideally in a P&L role ● Enthusiasm to work with CRM systems and drive value through them ● Proficient in English, Hindi, and preferably one other Indian language ● Good communication skills, both verbal and written, formal and informal (English) ● Good communication skills - verbal (Hindi) ● An understanding of timelines and project management ● A go-getter attitude, with the will to do what it takes and be flexible with a pure outcome focus ● Comfort with targets & execution planning! ● Willing to travel within Bangalore on a need basis ● Comfortable with Microsoft Excel
