Job Summary
The Assistant Branch Manager supports the Branch Manager in managing branch operations, achieving business targets, ensuring regulatory compliance, maintaining customer relationships, and leading branch staff to deliver excellent customer service.
Key ResponsibilitiesBusiness DevelopmentAchieve branch business targets for loans, deposits, insurance, and other financial products.Generate new business through customer acquisition and field activities.
Develop and maintain relationships with existing and prospective customers.Support marketing and promotional campaigns to increase business growth.Operations ManagementEnsure smooth day-to-day branch operations.
Monitor cash handling, documentation, and transaction processing.Ensure proper maintenance of branch records and reports.Support implementation of company policies and procedures.
Credit & Risk ManagementVerify customer documents and ensure compliance with KYC requirements.Assist in loan appraisal, verification, and disbursement processes.
Monitor loan portfolio quality and overdue accounts.Support recovery and collection activities to minimize delinquency.Team ManagementSupervise and guide branch staff in daily operations.
Conduct staff training and performance monitoring.Ensure discipline, productivity, and teamwork within the branch.Act as Branch Manager in their absence.
Customer ServiceEnsure prompt resolution of customer complaints and queries.
Maintain high standards of customer satisfaction.Build long-term customer relationships and retention.Compliance & AuditEnsure adherence to RBI guidelines and company policies.
Support internal and external audits.Maintain proper documentation and regulatory compliance.Report operational risks and irregularities promptly.
Required QualificationsBachelor's Degree in Commerce, Business Administration, Finance, or related field.MBA preferred.3–5 years of experience in NBFC, Banking, Gold Loan, Microfinance, or Financial Services.Experience in branch operations and team management preferred.

Leadership and team management.Business development and sales skills.Credit appraisal and risk assessment.Customer relationship management.Strong communication and interpersonal skills.Knowledge of RBI regulations and NBFC operations.Proficiency in MS Office and banking/NBFC software.Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)Achievement of branch business targets.Portfolio quality and collection efficiency.Customer satisfaction and retention.Compliance and audit scores.Employee productivity and branch profitability.Working ConditionsBranch-based role with field visits for customer acquisition, verification, and collections as required.May require travel within the assigned area/region.Note: The Assistant Branch Manager acts as the second-in-command at the branch and is responsible for supporting overall branch performance, profitability, compliance, and customer service standards.
