Area Manager – B2B Sales (Motor Insurance)

Location: Field based

Reporting to: State Head

Role Purpose Own agent acquisition and revenue generation in the assigned territory by onboarding, activating, and growing a network of motor insurance agents.

Key Responsibilities

● Recruit, onboard and activate local motor insurance agents (POSPs, brokers, dealers, etc.)

● Ensure agents start submitting renewal and new business leads within defined timelines

● Drive monthly premium and lead targets from agent network

● Train agents on product, pricing, renewal process, and lead submission tools

● Visit agents regularly to improve engagement, conversion and retention

● Identify inactive agents and reactivate them through follow-ups and support

● Build local market intelligence on competitors and pricing

● Maintain accurate pipeline, lead and activation data in CRM

Success Metrics (KRAs)

● Number of active agents onboarded

● Premium and policy volume generated

● Agent activation and retention rate

● Lead-to-policy conversion rate 

Ideal Candidate

● 2–6 years in field sales, preferably General insurance and distribution

● Experience working with agents, POSPs, dealers or channel partners

● Comfortable in daily field work

● Knows how to push people politely but firmly to perform

● Two-Wheeler mandatory

● Local language
