Academic Counsellor

About the Role

The Academic Counselor acts as a consultative advisor to students and parents, guiding them through their career paths and educational choices. This role sits at the middle and bottom of the sales funnel, requiring high empathy,good product knowledge, and the ability to close enrollments effectively.

Key Responsibilities

Consultative Selling: Conduct in-depth, one-on-one video or audio counseling sessions with students and parents to understand their career aspirations and pain points.

Program Mapping: Recommend the most suitable courses or programs based on the student's aptitude, academic history, and career goals.

Conversion & Enrollment: Drive end-to-end admission cycles, overcoming objections regarding price, time commitment, and ROI to close enrollments and meet monthly revenue targets.

Relationship Management: Build trust and maintain continuous engagement with prospective students through WhatsApp, email, and follow-up calls until successful onboarding.

Market Feedback: Act as the voice of the customer, passing on trends, common objections, and product feedback to the marketing and product teams.

Qualifications & Requirements

Experience: 1–4 years of experience in EdTech sales, admissions, or career counseling.

Skills: Strong consultative sales approach, high emotional intelligence (EQ), and stellar presentation skills.

Attributes: Patient, persuasive, and capable of handling high-ticket sales conversations with decision-makers.

Technical: Proficiency in video conferencing tools (Zoom, Google Meet).
