About the Role

We are looking for an experienced and technically strong Solar Installation & Project Engineer who can independently handle solar power projects from client requirement assessment through installation, commissioning, configuration and handover.

The ideal candidate must have strong practical knowledge of solar power systems and should be capable of visiting client locations, understanding their requirements, preparing the technical solution, coordinating with the installation team and successfully completing projects.

This is a hands-on field role, and candidates who only have theoretical knowledge without practical installation experience will not be suitable.

Key Responsibilities

* Visit client sites and independently understand their solar power requirements.

* Assess site conditions, available roof/installation area, electrical load and existing electrical infrastructure.

* Understand customer requirements and recommend an appropriate solar solution.

* Perform/coordinate site surveys, measurements and technical assessments.

* Understand solar system sizing, panel selection, inverter capacity, battery requirements and overall system configuration.

* Plan and execute complete solar installations, including:

  * Solar PV panels

  * Mounting structures

  * DC cabling

  * AC cabling

  * DCDB/ACDB

  * Earthing and lightning protection

  * Solar inverter

  * Batteries/energy storage where applicable

  * Protection devices and isolators

  * Net-metering-related electrical requirements

* Lead the installation team and ensure work is completed according to the approved design and safety standards.

* Independently handle project execution from start to completion.

* Configure and commission solar inverters, monitoring systems and other associated equipment.

* Troubleshoot solar generation, inverter, wiring, protection and system-performance issues.

* Conduct testing and commissioning after installation.

* Monitor system performance and identify technical problems.

* Coordinate with customers, vendors, electricians, technicians and internal teams.

* Explain system operation and basic maintenance requirements to customers.

* Prepare installation reports, checklists and project completion documentation.

* Ensure projects are completed within the committed timeline and quality standards.

* Handle after-sales technical support and service calls when required.

Mandatory Technical Skills

The candidate must have strong practical knowledge of complete solar power installations, including:

* On-grid solar systems

* Off-grid solar systems

* Hybrid solar systems

* Solar PV panels and configurations

* Solar inverter installation and configuration

* Solar system sizing

* DC and AC wiring

* String configuration

* DCDB and ACDB

* Earthing and lightning protection

* Solar mounting structures

* Electrical protection systems

* Battery and energy-storage integration

* Inverter commissioning

* Solar monitoring systems

* Fault finding and troubleshooting

* Basic electrical load assessment

* Solar generation/performance analysis

* Safety procedures for solar and electrical installations

Candidate Requirements

* 2–5 years of hands-on experience in solar installation and project execution.

* Must be able to independently handle complete solar projects.

* Must be comfortable travelling to customer sites.

* Must be able to communicate directly with customers and understand their requirements.

* Must have practical knowledge rather than only theoretical/academic knowledge.

* Should be capable of leading electricians and installation technicians at site.

* Must be able to troubleshoot problems independently.

* Must have a strong sense of responsibility for project completion.

* Degree is not mandatory. Proven experience and technical capability are more important.

* Should have a learning mindset and willingness to work with new solar technologies, inverters, batteries and energy-management systems.
