Software Engineer

OneAnchor is a B2B procurement and vendor governance platform for residential housing societies. Management Committees and RWAs use it to run maintenance, repair and upgrade procurement through verified sellers, with a documented trail from request to invoice. The product runs on Spring Boot microservices, with an Angular and Ionic app that ships to web, Android and iOS.

We want a developer to own features across that whole stack. This is a mid-level role on purpose. You are past the junior stage, write production code without much hand-holding, and can carry a feature on your own, but you are not yet a senior who spends the day architecting. You should already know the tools we use well enough to be useful in your first few weeks instead of learning the stack from scratch on the job.

Key responsibilities

A. Build and ship features

• Work from a spec and build features the whole way, from the Angular and Ionic screen to the Spring Boot service behind it.
• Model and query data in PostgreSQL and write a Flyway migration for every schema change. Reach for Redis and Elasticsearch when they are the right tool.
• Produce and consume Kafka events for the flows that run on them, such as audit logging, notifications and the procure-to-pay pipeline.
• Expose clean, versioned REST APIs and wire them up from the frontend with TypeScript and RxJS.

B. Own quality and reliability

• Write real automated tests (JUnit and Mockito on the backend, the frontend's own test tooling for the app) and keep the build green before every merge.
• Debug production issues across service boundaries from the logs and metrics, and trace a problem to its real cause instead of guessing.
• Get authentication and authorisation right, including JWT and OAuth2 introspection and permission-gated endpoints. Treat security as part of the feature, not something you bolt on later.

C. Ship and operate

• Containerise services with Docker and deploy them through our CI/CD pipeline to the Google Cloud VMs.
• Build and release the mobile app with Capacitor for Android and iOS when a feature reaches the app.
• Keep an eye on what you ship, respond to alerts, and fix things quickly when something breaks.

D. Collaborate and improve

• Work from written specs and flag blockers early, with evidence rather than opinion.
• Review your teammates' pull requests and leave the codebase cleaner than you found it.
• Share what you learn, whether it is a debugging trail, a gotcha or a better pattern, so the team gets faster.

What you bring

Must have

• 3 to 5 years building and shipping production software.
• Strong Java and Spring Boot (Boot 3.x, Java 17): REST APIs, Spring Security, JPA and Hibernate.
• Solid Angular and TypeScript: components, RxJS and REST integration.
• SQL and PostgreSQL, and comfortable owning your own database migrations.
• Real experience with microservices, Kafka, Docker and Git.
• Able to debug across services, not just your own code.
