Job Description

We are looking for a highly motivated and result-oriented Business Development Executive who will be responsible for driving business growth across our solar ecosystem.

The candidate will work on customer acquisition, partner management, sales development, market expansion, and relationship building for our Solar EPC services, B2B solar material platform (Solkart), and solar marketplace platform (BookMySolar).

The ideal candidate should have strong communication skills, sales mindset, and the ability to build long-term relationships with customers, solar EPC companies, channel partners, and local businesses.


Key Responsibilities:

1. Solar EPC Business Development

  • Generate new residential, commercial, and institutional solar leads.
  • Meet customers, understand their electricity requirements, and explain solar solutions.
  • Conduct site visit coordination and follow up with potential customers.
  • Convert leads into solar installation projects.
  • Maintain customer relationships before and after installation.
  • Develop referral networks with electricians, builders, architects, and local influencers.


2. Solkart B2B Solar Material Sales

  • Acquire and onboard local solar EPC companies as customers.
  • Build relationships with solar installers, dealers, and contractors.
  • Promote solar panels, inverters, cables, structures, BOS materials, and other products.
  • Understand customer requirements and coordinate with the operations team for quotations and delivery.
  • Increase repeat orders and monthly sales volume.
  • Collect market feedback regarding pricing, competitors, and demand.


3. BookMySolar Platform Growth

  • Onboard solar EPC vendors and service providers on the platform.
  • Educate EPC partners about platform benefits.
  • Generate customer leads through local marketing activities.
  • Coordinate between customers and EPC partners.
  • Improve platform engagement and adoption.


4. Market Development Activities

  • Visit local markets and identify new business opportunities.
  • Develop partnerships with:
  • Electrical contractors
  • Builders
  • Housing societies
  • Commercial establishments
  • Renewable energy consultants
  • Track competitor activities and market trends.


5. Sales & Reporting

  • Achieve monthly business targets.
  • Maintain daily activity reports.
  • Manage sales pipeline and follow-ups.
  • Update CRM / Google Sheets regularly.
  • Provide weekly business development reports.


Required Skills:

  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Strong sales and customer handling ability.
  • Ability to work independently in the field.
  • Basic understanding of solar energy systems preferred.
  • Good knowledge of local market and customer behaviour.
  • Self-motivated with target-oriented approach.
  • Basic computer skills (Excel, WhatsApp, Google Sheets).


Preferred Experience:

  • 1–3 years experience in:
  • Solar industry
  • Electrical industry
  • B2B sales
  • Field sales
  • Channel sales

Performance Metrics (KPIs):

  • Number of new EPC partners onboarded.
  • Monthly solar sales generated.
  • Number of customer meetings.
  • Conversion ratio.
  • Solkart repeat customers.
