Electrician (Civil Site) – Job DescriptionPosition: Site Electrician

Location: Construction/Civil Project Site

Reports To: Site Engineer / Electrical Engineer

Job SummaryThe Site Electrician is responsible for installing, maintaining, testing, and repairing electrical systems and equipment at construction sites. The role ensures safe and efficient electrical operations while complying with project specifications and safety regulations.

• Key ResponsibilitiesInstall temporary and permanent electrical wiring, conduits, cable trays, and distribution boards.
• Read and interpret electrical drawings, layouts, and specifications.
• Install and connect lighting systems, power outlets, switches, and control panels.
• Perform cable laying, termination, and testing activities.
• Maintain site electrical equipment such as generators, pumps, compressors, and tools.
• Troubleshoot and repair electrical faults and breakdowns.
• Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance of electrical systems.
• Ensure compliance with electrical safety standards and site safety procedures.
• Coordinate with engineers, supervisors, and other trades to complete work as scheduled.
• Maintain records of maintenance, repairs, and material usage.
• Ensure proper use and storage of electrical tools and equipment.
• Required Skills and Qualifications ITI /Diploma in Electrician Trade or equivalent qualification.
• Experience in construction or civil project sites preferred.
• Knowledge of electrical wiring, installation, testing, and maintenance.
• Ability to read electrical drawings and schematics.
• Familiarity with electrical safety regulations and procedures.
• Good troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Working ConditionsWork is primarily performed on construction sites.
• May require working at heights, outdoors, and in varying weather conditions.
• Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is mandatory.
