About the Role

MIT Prakriti is a nature-based, experiential learning space where children learn through exploration, meaningful activities, movement, interaction, and real-life experiences. We are looking for a Montessori Trained Teacher who is warm, observant, patient, and committed to creating a nurturing and child-centred learning environment.

Key Responsibilities

- Plan and conduct age-appropriate, activity-based learning experiences for preschool children.

- Follow Montessori principles of learning through observation, exploration, independence, and hands-on experiences.

- Facilitate activities related to language, early numeracy, sensorial development, practical life skills, art, music, movement, and nature.

- Encourage children to explore independently while providing appropriate guidance and support.

- Maintain a warm, safe, respectful, and inclusive classroom environment.

- Observe each child's interests, behaviour, participation, and developmental progress and maintain appropriate records.

- Support children's social, emotional, physical, cognitive, and communication development.

- Conduct regular outdoor activities, nature walks, physical play, and experiential learning activities.

- Introduce children to multilingual rhymes, stories, songs, and age-appropriate vocabulary.

- Prepare and organise teaching-learning materials and classroom resources.

- Maintain classroom discipline through positive and child-friendly approaches.

- Communicate regularly and professionally with parents regarding the child's participation and progress.

- Coordinate with fellow teachers and the school administration for academic activities, events, celebrations, and other school programmes.

- Ensure classroom materials and the learning environment are organised, clean, and child-friendly.

- Adhere to all school policies and child-safety guidelines.

Candidate Profile

- Montessori Teacher Training/Certification is mandatory.

- Graduate in any discipline; qualification in Early Childhood Education/Child Development will be an advantage.

- Prior experience working with preschool or early-years children is preferred.

- Good communication skills in English and Hindi; knowledge of Marathi will be an advantage.

- Patient, empathetic, energetic, creative, and comfortable working with young children.

- Strong observation and classroom-management skills.

- Willingness to work in a nature-based, activity-oriented, low-screen learning environment.

- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.

- Genuine interest in early childhood development and child-led learning.
