Job Description:
- Sets up and operates a shaper machine to mill, plane, shape, groove, or profile metal or plastic workpieces.
Responsibilities:
- Selects and installs appropriate cutting tools.
- Secures the workpiece in the machine.
- Adjusts machine settings like speed, feed rate, and depth of cut.
- Monitors the machining process and ensures quality.
- Performs routine maintenance on the machine.
- Maintains a safe working environment.
- May keep records of work orders and production data.
Skills:
- Understanding of machining principles, ability to read technical drawings, knowledge of cutting tools and materials, and familiarity with feeds and speeds.
