Quality Control Engineer

Job Purpose: To ensure that all fire-rated doors and related products manufactured by the company meet the required quality standards, approved drawings, specifications, and customer requirements. The QC Executive will be responsible for incoming material inspection, in-process quality checks, final product inspection, identification of defects, quality documentation, and coordination with the production team for corrective actions, ensuring that only conforming and approved products are released for dispatch.

Responsibilities:

1. Incoming Material Inspection – Inspect raw materials, hardware, accessories, and other components as per approved specifications and quality standards.
2. In-Process Quality Inspection – Conduct quality checks at different stages of fire door manufacturing to ensure compliance with approved drawings and specifications.
3. Final Product Inspection – Inspect finished fire-rated doors, frames, and accessories before dispatch to ensure that all quality requirements are met.
4. Dimensional Inspection – Check door and frame dimensions, thickness, clearances, alignment, squareness, and other critical measurements using appropriate measuring instruments.
5. Fire Door Components Inspection – Verify the correct installation and quality of hinges, locks, door closers, vision panels, intumescent/smoke seals, and other fire-rated hardware.
6. Drawing & Specification Compliance – Ensure that production is carried out strictly according to approved drawings, BOMs, specifications, and customer requirements.
7. Defect Identification – Identify manufacturing defects, workmanship issues, material defects, and deviations during production and final inspection.
8. NCR & Corrective Action – Prepare Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) and coordinate with the Production Team to implement corrective and preventive actions.
9. Quality Documentation – Maintain inspection reports, checklists, test records, material inspection reports, rejection reports, and other QC documentation.
10. Production Coordination – Work closely with Production, Design, Project, Dispatch, and other departments to resolve quality-related issues and improve product quality.
11. Pre-Dispatch Inspection – Ensure that only inspected, approved, and properly documented products are cleared for dispatch.
12. Customer/Third-Party Inspection Support – Coordinate and assist during customer, consultant, or third-party inspection visits when required.
13. Quality Improvement – Identify recurring quality issues and suggest improvements in manufacturing processes, workmanship, and inspection procedures.
14. Calibration & Measuring Instruments – Ensure that measuring and inspection instruments are properly maintained and calibrated as required.
15. Quality Standards Compliance – Ensure that products and processes comply with applicable fire-door standards, company quality procedures, and approved project requirements.
16. Inspection Reporting – Submit regular quality reports to the Production/Management team highlighting inspection status, defects, rejections, corrective actions, and pending quality issues.
17. Safety & Housekeeping – Follow all company safety procedures and maintain proper housekeeping in the inspection and production areas.

Continuous Monitoring – Monitor production quality regularly and immediately report any major quality deviation that may affect the performance or fire-resistance of the product.
