About the RoleWe are hiring an experienced Procurement Manager – Travel Operations for a leading IT company based in Gandhinagar, Gujarat. The ideal candidate should have strong expertise in travel procurement, vendor development, strategic sourcing, commercial negotiations, and contract management.

The selected candidate will be responsible for building and managing a nationwide network of travel vendors, ensuring the company receives high-quality travel services at competitive commercial rates while maintaining excellent service standards.

This position offers an excellent opportunity for professionals who have worked with corporate travel companies, airlines, hotels, transport vendors, travel management companies (TMCs), hospitality organizations, or large corporate procurement teams.

  • Key ResponsibilitiesStrategic Vendor SourcingIdentify, evaluate, and onboard reliable travel vendors across India.
  • Develop a strong network of airlines, hotel chains, transport companies, cab operators, bus operators, visa service providers, travel management companies (TMCs), and destination management companies (DMCs).
  • Conduct market research to identify new vendors offering competitive pricing and quality services.
  • Build long-term strategic relationships with vendors to ensure uninterrupted business operations.
  • Procurement & Commercial NegotiationLead commercial negotiations for hotels, flights, transport services, visa assistance, conference travel, and other corporate travel requirements.
  • Negotiate pricing, discounts, credit terms, payment terms, and annual commercial agreements.
  • Finalize rate contracts and Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
  • Continuously benchmark market pricing and identify cost-saving opportunities.
  • Prepare and execute procurement strategies aligned with company objectives.
  • Contract & Vendor ManagementDraft, review, negotiate, and manage vendor contracts.
  • Ensure vendor compliance with company procurement policies and legal requirements.
  • Monitor vendor performance through periodic reviews and performance scorecards.
  • Resolve vendor disputes and operational issues professionally.
  • Maintain an approved vendor database and evaluate vendor performance regularly.
  • Corporate Travel OperationsManage procurement support for domestic and international travel requirements.
  • Coordinate with hotels, airlines, transport partners, visa agencies, and travel service providers.
  • Ensure timely availability of travel services with minimum turnaround time.
  • Improve procurement processes to increase operational efficiency and service quality.
  • Ensure uninterrupted travel support for employees, clients, and senior management.
  • Cost Optimization & Budget ManagementManage procurement budgets effectively.
  • Identify opportunities for reducing travel costs without compromising quality.
  • Analyze procurement trends and prepare monthly MIS reports.
  • Present procurement reports, vendor analysis, and cost-saving initiatives to senior management.
  • Monitor travel expenses and implement procurement best practices for maximum savings.
  • Stakeholder ManagementCollaborate with HR, Administration, Finance, Operations, and Business Teams to understand travel requirements.
  • Coordinate with internal departments for vendor selection and procurement approvals.
  • Ensure smooth invoice processing and timely vendor payments in coordination with the Finance team.
  • Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders to improve procurement efficiency.
  • Compliance & Quality AssuranceEnsure procurement activities comply with company policies and statutory regulations.
  • Maintain complete vendor documentation and procurement records.
  • Conduct periodic vendor audits to evaluate service quality and compliance.
  • Implement procurement best practices to improve efficiency, transparency, and vendor accountability.
  • Required SkillsStrong negotiation and commercial management skills.
  • Excellent vendor sourcing and vendor relationship management abilities.
  • Sound knowledge of corporate travel procurement and sourcing.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and procurement reporting tools.
  • Experience with ERP, SAP, Oracle, or other procurement management systems will be an added advantage.
  • Educational QualificationBachelor's Degree in any discipline (MBA/PGDM preferred).
  • Certification in Procurement, Supply Chain Management, or Strategic Sourcing will be an added advantage.
  • Experience RequiredMinimum 5+ years of experience in Procurement, Strategic Sourcing, Vendor Development, or Travel Procurement.
  • Prior experience in the Travel, Hospitality, Aviation, Corporate Travel, IT, or Service Industry is highly preferred.
  • Proven experience in handling nationwide vendor networks and commercial negotiations.
  • Strong understanding of travel procurement processes, contract management, and supplier relationship management.
  • Willingness to travel across India for vendor meetings and business development activities whenever required.
