Junior Estimator – Building & Bridge

Job responsibilities

·     Prepare detailed quantity take-offs and estimates for Building and Bridge projects.

·     Prepare BOQ (Bill of Quantities) based on drawings, specifications and tender documents.

·     Study and interpret structural, architectural and civil drawings for quantity estimation.

·     Prepare quantities for RCC, structural steel, earthwork, foundations, substructure and superstructure works.

·     Assist in preparing estimates for building works, bridges, culverts, retaining walls and other structures.

·     Prepare and maintain rate analysis and cost estimates as per applicable SOR/DSR/USSOR and project requirements.

·     Review tender documents, drawings and specifications and identify discrepancies affecting quantities or costs.

·     Assist in preparing comparative statements, cost summaries and tender estimates.

·     Coordinate with design engineers and project teams for clarification of drawings and quantities.

·     Update estimates based on revised drawings, design changes and client comments.

·     Maintain proper records of quantity calculations, BOQs and supporting documents.

·     Assist senior estimators/engineers in checking and reviewing estimates before submission.

·     Ensure accuracy and consistency of quantities and rates in the final estimate.

·     Basic knowledge of RCC, structural steel, building and bridge construction.

·     Basic understanding of BOQ, quantity take-off, rate analysis and cost estimation.

·     Knowledge of relevant IS Codes, DSR/SOR/USSOR will be an advantage.

·     Proficiency in MS Excel and basic knowledge of AutoCAD.

·     Ability to read and understand structural, architectural and civil drawings.

·     Good analytical and numerical skills.

·     Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

·     Ability to work effectively in a team environment.

·     Good written and verbal communication skills.

·     Willingness to learn and develop technical skills in estimation and quantity surveying.
