Automation Engineer

Job Title: Automation Engineer – PLC & SCADA

Qualification: Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech in Electronics, Electrical, Instrumentation & Control, or Electronics & Communication (EC)

Travel: Extensive PAN-India site travel and on-site stay during commissioning

Hiring an Automation Engineer to design, develop, commission, and support PLC & SCADA systems for utility-scale Solar, Wind, BESS, and Hybrid Power Plant automation projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain PLC programs (Ladder, Structured Text, FBD).
• Design and configure SCADA graphics, alarms, trends, historian, and reports.
• Configure PLC–SCADA communication using Modbus RTU/TCP, IEC 61850, IEC 104, OPC UA/DA.
• Integrate field devices such as energy meters, IEDs/relays, inverters, BESS PCS/BMS, and weather stations.
• Configure Ethernet switches, fiber-optic networks, IP addressing, and ring topologies.
• Work with SQL Server/PostgreSQL and develop reports using SSRS.
• Perform SAT, loop checks, commissioning, troubleshooting, and customer handover.
• Coordinate with clients, OEMs, EPC contractors, and utilities during project execution.

Required Skills

• PLC programming and SCADA development.
• Industrial communication protocols (Modbus, IEC 61850, IEC 104, OPC UA/DA).
• SQL Server/PostgreSQL and SSRS.
• Networking, fiber optics, and switch configuration.
• Experience with renewable energy automation (Solar/BESS/Hybrid/Wind).

Preferred Experience

• Mitsubishi PLC & ICONICS GENESIS SCADA (Siemens, Schneider, Allen-Bradley also acceptable).
• Knowledge of firewall configuration, GPS time synchronization, redundancy, and grid communication.

Other Requirements

• Willingness to travel across India for site commissioning.
• Strong troubleshooting, communication, and client coordination skills.
• Awareness of electrical safety practices (LOTO, working at heights).
