HR Manager, People & Leader Advisory

Thomson Reuters is seeking an experienced HR Business Partner to drive organizational effectiveness and talent strategy within our Technology organization. In this pivotal role, you'll serve as a trusted advisor to business leaders, enabling them to build high-performing teams while navigating rapid change and digital transformation. Combining strong business acumen with people-focused expertise, you'll partner on critical initiatives spanning talent management, organizational design, employee engagement, and change leadership—ultimately balancing business outcomes with exceptional employee experience.

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and business-focused HR Business Partner to support leaders and employees within Thomson Reuters' Technology organization. As a trusted advisor, you will partner with business leaders to drive organizational effectiveness, talent strategy, employee engagement, leadership development, workforce planning, and change initiatives.

The ideal candidate combines strong business acumen with a pragmatic people-first approach, enabling leaders to build high-performing teams while navigating a fast-paced, AI-enabled and continuously evolving business environment.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Business Partnership

  • Serve as the primary HR advisor to leaders across assigned technology organizations.

  • Develop strong partnerships with leaders to understand business priorities, workforce challenges, and organizational goals.

  • Provide data-driven insights and recommendations to support decision-making.

  • Partner with leaders on organizational design, workforce planning, talent movement, and team effectiveness initiatives.

Talent & Performance Management

  • Drive annual and mid-year performance processes.

  • Partner with leaders to identify, develop, and retain critical talent.

  • Support succession planning and leadership pipeline development.

  • Coach leaders on performance conversations, development planning, and differentiated talent management.

Employee Experience & Engagement

  • Assess organizational health and employee sentiment through surveys, listening channels, and direct employee interactions.

  • Facilitate employee engagement strategies and action planning.

  • Conduct stay interviews, leadership connects, and employee listening forums to proactively identify opportunities and risks.

  • Promote an inclusive and positive workplace culture aligned with Thomson Reuters values.

Organizational Effectiveness & Change Management

  • Support business transformations, restructures, integration efforts, and change initiatives.

  • Guide leaders through organizational transitions while balancing business outcomes and employee experience.

  • Advise leaders on role clarity, organizational design, workforce optimization, and operating model changes.

  • Partner with global HR colleagues to ensure consistent people practices.

Employee Relations & Risk Mitigation

  • Provide consultative guidance on employee relations matters.

  • Partner with managers on coaching, performance improvement plans, investigations, and complex employee situations.

  • Ensure appropriate application of company policies and employment practices.

  • Proactively identify and mitigate people-related risks.

Leadership Coaching & Capability Building

  • Coach leaders on people management, team dynamics, inclusion, and leadership effectiveness.

  • Facilitate manager enablement initiatives.

  • Help leaders navigate difficult employee situations with confidence and empathy.

  • Promote a culture of accountability, growth, and continuous learning.

HR Transformation & AI Adoption

  • Champion adoption of modern HR practices, tools, and technologies.

  • Leverage analytics and AI-enabled insights to improve decision quality and people outcomes.

  • Identify opportunities to streamline HR processes and enhance employee experience.

  • Support organizational efforts to build an AI-first culture.

About You

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, Psychology, or related discipline.

  • 8+ years of progressive HR experience with significant HR Business Partner experience.

  • Experience supporting technology, product, engineering, digital, or similarly dynamic business functions.

  • Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills.

  • Demonstrated experience in change management, talent management, and organizational effectiveness.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.

  • Excellent communication, facilitation, and coaching skills.

Preferred

  • Experience working in a global or matrixed organization.

  • Experience supporting leaders at senior manager and director levels.

  • Familiarity with AI-enabled HR practices and workforce analytics.

  • Experience managing organizational transformations, integrations, or workforce restructuring initiatives.
