Assistant Manager Change and Release Management

 

Role Summary

The SAP Change & Release Management Consultant will be responsible for planning, coordinating, governing, and executing SAP releases across global landscapes. This role acts as a trusted advisor to business and IT stakeholders, ensuring SAP changes and releases are delivered in a controlled, compliant, and predictable manner aligned with ITIL, SOX, and organizational standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Create and manage SAP release calendars aligned with business and IT roadmaps.
  • Plan and execute SAP major, minor, and emergency releases.
  • Act as central point of control for SAP transports and release activities.
  • Coordinate with development, testing, BASIS, infrastructure, and project teams.
  • Govern Change & Release processes using ServiceNow and SAP Solution Manager (ChaRM).
  • Convene CAB, Emergency CAB, and IT Freeze Boards.
  • Ensure compliance with ITIL, SOX, and audit requirements.
  • Conduct post-release reviews and track KPIs (success rate, defect leakage, rollbacks, timelines).
  • Coach regional teams on Change & Release standards and best practices.
  • Engage with business, SAP CoE, and global stakeholders to align release timelines.
 

Required Skills & Experience

  • 5–8 years of SAP Change/Release/Delivery Management experience.
  • Strong knowledge of SAP landscapes, TMS, CTS/CTS+, and SAP ChaRM.
  • Hands-on experience with ServiceNow ITSM workflows.
  • Solid understanding of ITIL Change and Release Management.
  • Experience working in global, multi-time-zone environments.

Preferred Skills

  • Exposure to SAP S/4HANA, Agile/DevOps.
  • Strong communication, coordination, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management capabilities.
  • Proven ability to manage high-pressure release cycles and complex dependencies.
